VISIT BY TWO GURU’S- THE NOW AND LIGHT
All three of us have matured through life’s teaching and especially through experiences. The lessons that my two friends brought to the meeting of the minds was as though it was tailor made for me. It was so I could be touched and experience the presence of love and care
The Doc started with- Harry I heal people and I see a lot of people who come to me for physical healing. Till date I have seen almost 150,000 people. Some people come back after a couple of days of medication and start off abruptly with “doc I am still the same as I was two day ago. There is no change in my condition. What is happening? Are you treating me ok?” he then went on to tell me how he deals with this. He said – I ask them “no change?” What were your symptoms when you walked in two days ago? What are the symptoms now? Not yesterday or two days ago? Please tell me the pain you face right now? Just this line of questioning invariably draws out a different response and with much more softness of tone. He says The patient comes up with – Doc I am better now than I was yesterday , there is slight discomfort in the following areas. This he says -is where the mind comes in to the picture. The mind is usually caught up in having the same image & memory of pain suffered through the thoughts when the sickness occurred and it holds on to it tightly. This holding on to pain gives a false illusion of reality and making the pain seem larger than what it is. This Lesson in the Now was important for me to hear and to learn from. He went to add this insight “After suffering for a very long time, physical or psychological, there comes a point in life when one gets so used to the pains or problems or diseases, that they start loving/liking the suffering unknowingly/subconsciously and those become a part of their normal routine life. So even when one helps them out of it and relieves them of all their illness/worries, they do not want to accept it. That’s because they are still living in the past with their ailments/problems. This is where they need to be taught to live in this moment”
In my coaching practice too I come across some clients who are clinging on to the past pain or past glory. They use those memories to deal with challenges and pain created by the mind Now. When one is asked to just be still for a moment and observe “what really is Now “the pain usually disappears or lightens considerably. So here is the first lesson about how mental projection of past discomfort continues if not seen objectively. The role of the coach is to ask the right questions and create the right presence to have a breakthrough.
I have heard of how the people are touched in the presence of a guru. I have intellectually analyzed that this touching is in the form of subliminal vibrations that the guru is aligned to with life and in his presence the teacher and student both experience the vibration of Life. He has this spark in him. This is the light we all have and can be touched and touch others in infinite possibilities.
He pointed out that the seed that he had planted a long time ago i.e the habit of reading that he mentored me into, is now a tree bearing fruits and passing on the same joy to others. What I do now is giving back the experience, wisdom and light that has been gathered through teachers like friends.
Some questions to think about:-
1. Are we planting a seed into the minds around us to lead a transformation of the minds towards a harmonious and happy living? We can make this an intention and state “I am planting a seed in others minds so that they evolve into what life’s purpose is for them”
2, Are we asking the right questions to the people so that they can be centred and be present fully in the moment. Let us ask the questions “what is the issue right now?”
3. Are we being the light that we are? We all are light as Gary Zukov puts it in his book “the seat of the soul”. Let us realize this light in us and be like a lighthouse
4. Are we spending enough time & effort to become mindful and self aware? Let us make an intention to say “I am paying attention to who I am”
May All beings Be Happy!

Hey Stevoo …. Glad you enjoyed it
Its a good read. the eaternal quest – who am i? Would love to read u r thoughts with singular clarity.
My two bits – i come across few people who ask the Q or r even interested in the Q. Worst of all our education which ought to be centered on the Q fails to inculcate the skill of understanding. Nevays less space here for my thoughts. Will meet, god willing and have a tete-e-tete.
Looking forward for the meet up
